Joining the Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce is part of Genting UK’s ongoing commitment to playing its part in the business life of Greater Birmingham. Robin Sherwood, Resorts World Birmingham commercial marketing manager, said: “We are delighted to be joining the Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce. As a major
business and employer we take our role as a corporate citizen seriously and it is important that we make a contribution to the wider business community and the Chamber is a very important link for us.”
Have your say on Solihull’s future
Solihull Chamber members are being invited to help shape the future of the borough, in a major event being staged at the premises of Arup, at Blythe Valley Park. The event – on 24 May – is a forum to discuss
‘planning and localism’ and will be a further opportunity for businesses to contribute to the borough’s ‘Local Plan Review’, which will dictate future development in Solihull. The various challenges facing Solihull will be
under discussion, as will the impact of the proposed High Speed 2 (HS2) rail station. Another topic will be the emergence of UK
Central, which is the name given to the development zone which covers Solihull’s biggest economic assets – Jaguar Land Rover, Birmingham Airport and the NEC. There are also ongoing developments in the
town itself, including the expansion of the Touchwood shopping centre. Joan Smith, divisional director of Solihull
Resorts World
Chamber, said: “We want to know how you, as Chamber members, feel about recent planning developments. If we know, we can help you do something about it.”
