Celebrating our success By Julia Gray

It’s amazing to think that the Sutton Coldfield Chamber is nearing its first anniversary. It seems like only yesterday that the Chamber was launched but so much has been achieved in a relatively short space of time as we prepare to mark our anniversary in July. Before that milestone, we have an

extremely busy series of events over the spring and early summer to look forward to. Of course, we are part of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and it is marvellous that the Chambers’ Chief Executive Paul Faulkner will be guest speaker at a breakfast at the Belfry on Tuesday 5 May. Another very high-profile

West Midlands’ figure, Birmingham City Council leader Councillor John Clancy will be the VIP guest at a

lunch on Thursday 19 May at Moor Hall Hotel still to be announced. There will also be a charity quiz night on Monday 6 June before our anniversary celebrations on Friday 15 July. Of course, events of that scale and range need

a considerable amount of background work to organise, so it is excellent news that we now have an 11-strong committee in place to oversee the rapid progress we are making as a Chamber. Over the last few months we have

clearly filled a gap in the town, providing a ‘bespoke’ Chamber for members who may live in Sutton and work in Tamworth, Lichfield and Birmingham, or indeed vice-versa. We are there to help for a wide range of businessmen and women.
