landscape and the expansive prairie sky. Sunshine State of Mind is clay- coloured and balanced by a sun of warm brush strokes.
A few things to do in and around the Hat for both locals and visitors:
• Visit the Family Leisure Centre. The $36-million expansion, which includes a running and walking track, an expanded fitness centre and four volleyball courts, is expected to be complete by June. People of all ages love the Kinsmen Aquatic Park with the Rip-n-Rattler waterslide.
• Go to Echo Dale Regional Park. There are trails to walk or you can swim or go boating.
• Take a drive to Cypress Hills Provincial Park, the highest point between the Rocky Mountains and
Labrador. You're likely to see elk, moose and deer and it's a great place to camp.
• Visit the Medalta Potteries living, working museum in the Historic Clay District.
• Check out the Medicine Hat Speedway. They offer exciting races from May through September.

• Go Geocaching. There are many
treasures hidden around the Saamis Tepee.
• Have a picnic at Kin Coulee Park. The playground is excellent for kids.
• Go bird watching at Police Point Park. It's a beautiful place to go for a walk.
• Attend a show at the Medicine Hat Musical Theatre or audition to be in one. The theatre has been around since 1960.
• Take in a World Professional Chuckwagon race this June at the Medicine Hat Stampede grounds.
