then, she rose through the ranks at the speed of light (on top of gaining a few centimetres). You might not know this, but she’s also showed promise in other sports such as speed skating, flag football, kite surfing, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, circus and she’s even taken part in triathlons.
She’s an exceptional athlete and it comes as no surprise to see just how successful she’s been. Despite her young age, ‘little’ Anouchka has an impressive Ultimate CV. Over the last few years, she’s taken part in six Canadian championships, made it onto junior (Aéra) and adult (Iris) provincial teams, played in the Philly Invite tournament and in
the prestigious USAU Nationals. She’s now an established figure in Quebec and in Canada. But her greatest adventure has yet to start: she will represent Canada at the U20 Ultimate Frisbee World Championships this summer in Poland — a dream come true for her.
I’ve talked a lot about her sporting accomplishments, but Anouchka is above all an extraordinary person, kind and devoted. On the field, she’s a quiet but dangerous force with and without the disc. I have no doubt that this is the start of a great adventure for her and that we’ll be seeing her around on the field for a long time to come.
