MABS MMM new centre opens its doors
On Tuesday 1st March MABS Murcia Mar Menor opened the door of their brand new cancer centre. Beverley Reed (right on the picture) welcomed the first client to the centre for complementary treatment.
The new centre is a place to drop in anytime Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm for a chat and a coffee in confidence with any cancer related issues. It will also offer complementary treatments such as massage to cancer patients should they need it and this continues past the active treatment stage. It will also be home to the Care & Share meetings for anyone affected by cancer. The phone number is 868 171 035 and a volunteer will always take the time to chat with you.
It is centrally located in San Javier just around the corner from the old charity shop, which is also due to relocate later this month. The centre and shop will be next door to each other and will be on one level which means that visitors and volunteers alike don’t have to worry about stairs.

Teulada Moraira Lions donate 1,500€ to MABS
MABS recently decided that to further extend the fantastic levels of care and support which they offer to cancer patients, they needed to purchase two more fully adjustable, electrically operated beds, which not only ensure greater comfort for the occupant but also make it easier to administer care & treatment. So MABS President, Jacqui Phillips, approached T.M. Lions to ask if the Club would be willing to make a donation towards the fairly substantial cost of 1,500€ per bed.
In response, T.M. Lions offered to meet the full cost of one of these beds and recently T.M. Lions President, David Platt, with a number of Lions Club Members in support, presented a delighted Jacqui with a cheque for 1,500€ at an informal ceremony in the MABS Meeting Room, Policlínica IMED, Teulada.
