Footlights Theatre Group: The members of Footlights Theatre Group, based in Calpe, are now enjoying a break for a couple of months. They had their Annual General Meeting on 3 February, and are now making plans for 2016. All enquiries to: 634 347 937.
Welcome to the Stage Diary, a column that since it was first launched in 2007, has become a major central point of reference to amdram on the Costa Blanca. Not only is it a guide to what’s on in all the regions, but is also an important on-line introduction to potential expat’s researching community life in Spain. The diary also acts as a planning guide to assist groups avoid unnecessary clashes of production dates.
Calpe Gilbert and Sullivan Society: The society is currently in rehearsals for the comic opera, ‘Ruddigore’ at their new venue in

Cantabile Ladies Choir: The choir returned to rehearsals last month with vocal chords rested. If you are interested in joining a group of sociable, friendly ladies, you will be given a warm welcome. Rehearsals take place

Careline Theatre: Following on from the successful January pantomime, ‘Aladdin’, Careline Theatre’s next production is ‘After a Fashion’ a historical romp through their costume cupboard in song, dance and laughter. The show will run on 19th, 20th and 21st May. More details to follow soon.
Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir: The choir is now beginning rehearsals for their summer programme including their first tour to Barcelona in May. Anyone interested in singing with the choir, join them in rehearsals at Bar Mediterraneo, Teulada, on Tuesday evenings from 6pm - 8pm. GASP: are now rehearsing their production for May 2016. The play is a fast moving comedy in three acts entitled ‘Breath of Spring’. It concerns a group of older persons, fur coats, a maid and of course - a policeman. Why? Go and see the play and all will be revealed.

Jávea Players: Roger Brown is directing the first production of Javea Players’ 40th Anniversary Year – the very moving story, ‘Steel Magnolias’. This strong and very emotive but often hilarious play set in Truvy’s Beauty Parlour in Louisiana, will be staged at the Javea Players’ Studio Theatre in Javea Old Town from Monday 11th to Saturday 16th April, curtain-up 8pm. Oliva Drama and Cultural Association: ODCA are pleased to announce their 2016 Pantomime, ‘Cinderella’, will now be held on two nights, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th February.
