Teulada Moraira Lions present: Manhatton Jazz play “Satchmo”
A tribute to the music of Louis Armstrong - sponsored by Blevins Franks. Espai La Senieta, Avda Madrid, 03724, Moraira, 16th March at 8pm. Ticket price: 10€.
Unbelievably, this year sees the 45th anniversary of the death of Louis Armstrong when, on 6th July 1971, the world of jazz said goodbye to one of its true greats.
Although best remembered today by many for his hit records “Hello Dolly” and the iconic “What a Wonderful World”, the career of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong, jazz musician, composer and singer, spanned over 50 years and, as early as the 1920s he established himself as one of the pivotal and most influential figures in jazz music.
With his famously gravelly voice, which appeared to originate from the soles of his boots, virtuoso performances on the trumpet and cornet and a hugely engaging stage presence, Satchmo was enormously popular with audiences wherever he played. It, therefore, takes genuine talent to do proper justice to
any part of Louis Armstrong’s extensive and varied repertoire of jazz music but, with this concert, talent aplenty is what will be on-stage at La Senieta as Manhatton Jazz take us back to the era when jazz was king.
Jef Hatton and the boys of Manhatton Jazz have a large and loyal fan base throughout the Costa Blanca and so T.M. Lions are delighted to have this opportunity to bring the band to La Senieta for this special night – the more
so since Manhatton Jazz have, for many years now, been constant and generous supporters of Teulada Moraira Lions.
Jef Hatton has already promised
that kind of this jazz is
going to be a GREAT night and so, if you are any
fan,
form an orderly queue now to secure your seats via the ticket hotline: telephone (0034) 634 347 343 or email
