Congratulations to the community of Javea and in particular to The Provincial Grand Lodge of Valencia, The Roundabout Charity Shop, The Original Charity Shop and to fundraiser and organiser Sandy Tsalikidis who have reached the target of fundraising 64,000€ for a new
New Disabled Ambulance for the Red Cross Javea
specially adapted ambulance vehicle. Capable of carrying four wheel-chaired passengers at once, the ambulance was unveiled on Friday 22nd January and will be serving the areas of Gata, Pedreguer and Javea. For many years the Red Cross had not had a new vehicle, and this specially adapted ambulance will take the infirm, old and disabled to doctors appointments, to hospital and on occasional outings for senior citizens of the community. The Red Cross motto is “Give food, give shelter, give hope” and certainly the raising of such a magnificent sum for such a worthwhile cause emphasises how hope and community spirit continue to abound in Costa Blanca North.
Cinema La Paz showing films in English
Cinema La Paz recently opened in Gata de Gorgos Carrer La Pau, 3. They will be showing films regularly in English both for adults and children. At the time of going to press we did not have the information for February screenings but follow their Facebook page ‘Cinema La Paz’ for regular updates and soon their website:-

The Food Bank of Calpe needs furniture and household goods for needy families
The local Food Bank has identified the need for furniture, cooking utensils, bedding and appliances for needy families in the area and appeals to anyone to donate any of the items
mentioned. To donate furniture, appliances, etc. those interested can call 636 566 577 and the Food Bank workers can collect at your convenience.
