Torrevieja has a brand new film and cultural club. Thanks to a collaboration with Cines IMF in Torrevieja, located beside Habaneras Shopping Centre in the Ozone Centre, every week a brand new film shows, once a night, for all seven nights, in English language with Spanish subtitles, called: V.O.S.E. No need for


headphones. It costs 5€ on Monday and Wednesday and 7€ every other night and Fiestas. However film club members can visit on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 5€ and after you’ve seen ten films, the 11th is free, plus many other benefits from joining the club. Everyone can find out what is showing each week by sending an email to: film@admitone.club with the words ‘Opt In’ in the subject line. Walking Football fever is now taking off and those 50 and over who fancy kicking a ball around again, ladies included, can now take part in walking football, which takes place in Torrevieja on a Friday morning at 11am in the sports city, or Los Montesinos at 10am on Tuesdays. It all helps us work off those festive kilos, follow those New Year’s resolutions to loose a few kilos and get fitter during 2016. Recently the lads and wags from Los Montesinos travelled to Moriara for an away tournament, and English and Scottish teams have all expressed an interest in playing here.


During the winter the The Rojales Craft Market is open on the 1st Sunday of each month in the morning from 11am to 2pm. It’s is a fun place to visit if you are looking for small a gift, piece of art or decoration, so don’t miss it at the Cuevas del Rodeo in Rojales. Local artists put their work on display along with other craft works to browse and enjoy. Also on the 1st Sunday of each month is the Ace Cafe Classic Car event, on the street outside La Torre Hotel in Los Montesinos from 11am to 1pm while Moonshiners have their Classic and Custom Rod event at the Miroil Garage in Catral on the last Sunday of the month between 11am and 1pm. Admission is free.


Kids of all ages are invited to attend the Torrellano Miniature Steam Train. It is run by the Friends of the Railways

Association and so is normally only open on Saturdays between 4pm and 8pm with Miniature Train Rides during February and March on the 2nd Sunday from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Every month the Friends of the Railways Association host a miniature train event at the railway museum in Torrellano. Donations of 1.50€ per visit are requested.


Least we forget, that most romantic day of the year, St. Valentine’s is on Sunday 14th February, so girls, start dropping those hints now about romantic presents, chocolates, diamonds, dinner for two and all that to your man, just in case he should forget. And ladies, if he hasn’t popped the question yet and he should have, take the initiative and propose to him on February 29th, the Leap Year Day, the day in which traditionally the tables are turned and you can get down on your bended knee and put the pressure on him in front of hundreds of people, to say ‘yes’.
