Metal tooling jigs had to be created for each size in which X-Line offers this machine in three, 350L, 500L and 750L. For those of you wanting payload figures that is 600 Kg, 850 Kg and 1100 Kg respec- tively.
So why is the tank shape so complex? Andy Gofton goes on to say, “I can’t think of another system out there that has a design even close to the complexi- ties of this one”. Well the answer is less complex and makes absolute sense.
The X-Tank is designed to have all of your common components and filters, including electronics hid- den within these recess. Even the battery gets a little snug slot. Amazingly, in the tank channels you will find recesses for pipe work wiring to go.
The tank design also helps to reduce the footprint with unrivalled natural baffling. This system would offer the buyer lots of room in their vehicle with its upright position with less water movement com- pared to other systems because of its cut- outs/recesses and through channels.
The X-Tank follows the trend of systems with ver- satility on options to bolt on, bolt off what you like and buy components from where ever you like. Thought has also been given to individual user needs and also to foreign markets with options to move the controller or other items for the countries
that drive on the wrong side of the road. Come on guys you know the right side of the road is ‘right’.
So how did the design come about? James Daykin says, “The initial concept was driven by wanting to produce a tank specifically designed for the window cleaning industry. With being able to design this from the ground up, we really started to think out-the-box and plan ahead, essentially taking all the experience and knowledge we had gleamed over the years as window cleaners and system installers into the design of this new sys- tem.
Our main focus regarding the design was to incor- porate recessed areas into the tank for the housing of all common components and for us to pre-mould
fixing points so things like filters, pumps and con- trollers can be easily mounted directly onto the tank while at the same time not overhanging the tanks actual footprint”.
Andy Gofton told WCM, “We’ve designed the system to be 100% electronically controlled, it comes with an automated fill & flush system, options for cold or temperature controllable hot water and will com- fortably fit into 99% of all commercial vehicles. The new X-Tank also boasts one of the lowest running costs on the market, with average running costs for the Auto-R/O filtration version (in hard water ar- eas) costing less than £150 per year.”
The X-Tank is finished off in classic X-Line orange with black components, and they will offer both cold and hot water options boasting the smallest compact hot water box on the market. The cost of these systems start from £1,495. To book a demo with X-Line please contact 0115 9394444 and you may get to see the awesome demo trailer they have the X-Tank kitted into.
The trailer was sourced in Europe and took both James and Andy over 30 hours in their van and over 2 days to bring it back to the UK. Its retro look is awesome and frames the butterfly of a system with- in beautifully.
