Building a successful residential window cleaning business can be easy, you begin with a relatively low start up cost and your marketing consists of dropping leaflets, knocking on doors and gaining custom through word of mouth.


Other methods for building up a residential window cleaning business can involve purchasing an existing business/round, using a canvassing team or using a voucher driven website.


But recently there appears to be another option. A mother of two, Emma Twist, from Hampshire has launched the UK’s first on demand window cleaning service. This web site can be found at www.squeakyclean.cc


We decided to interview Emma as we wanted to know how ‘demanding’ she might find her new website and what is it that she offers her customers and the window cleaners that climb aboard.


WCM: Emma, please could you tell the readers a little about yourself.


Emma: I'm Emma, mother of two young boys,


originally from Sweden but have been living in England for 10 years. I graduated from Google Campus for Entrepreneurs where I first developed and launched the business.


WCM: How did this idea come about and what is the service exactly?


Emma: I came up with the idea for Squeaky Clean after we moved house and couldn’t find a window cleaner. After searching the Internet I realised that there were no national resource to find, book and pay for window cleaning services. Our website allows customers to book and pay for a window cleaner in just a few clicks and prospective Squeaky Cleaner’s can apply to join up online there too.


Squeaky Clean will offer "local, pre-vetted window cleaning professionals available within 24 hours".


WCM: What has your research journey been like?


Emma: Every conversation I have had with window cleaners has been funny, its not really a surprise but the research has been fun and I have been laughing out loud from some of the experiences window cleaners
