Trainers design the program, demonstrate the exercises using LIFT’s video library, and then provide encour- agement and correction as they view their client exercising via their iPad. We originally targeted this service
to vacationing members, but we found that members on vacation wanted a break from their regular exercise rou- tines. We are now marketing the vir- tual program to our business travel- lers and also to our snowbirds who fly south for the winter months. Our biggest challenges so far have
been getting members to try a remote session and also getting trainers to spend the time to learn and then pro- mote the program to their clients. Technology will be a big part of the
future, and we believe that finding and integrating relevant applications will be key to long term success for any
fitness organization. The world today is increasingly run via digital devices. We believe that remote training—that allows us to offer our services to any- one anywhere—presents a great oppor- tunity for us to service our members more effectively and to grow our busi- ness on a world-wide level.
