IAFE Launches New Convention Website
www.iafeconvention.com is Hub for All Things Convention
SPRINGFIELD, MO — July 8, 2015 —The Interna- tional Association of Fairs & Expositions (IAFE) re- cently launched a new website for the organization’s Annual Convention and Trade Show. The site,
www.iafeconvention.com, serves as the hub for all information related to the Convention, which will be held Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2015, at the Paris and Bally’s Hotels in Las Vegas, Nev. “The unique event that is the IAFE Convention & Trade Show de-
serves its own dedicated website,” stated IAFE COO Marla Calico. “With an ever-increasing number of unique visitors coming to the IAFE’s regular website via mobile device, this was the ideal time to launch
www.iafeconvention.com.” The Convention website features everything necessary for those plan-
ning to attend — from the delegate registration portal to a detailed schedule of educational programming, speakers, and special events. Other featured sections of the website include information on the 300- plus Trade Show exhibitors, links to Convention sponsors, travel dis- counts, and the many new features of this year’s Convention. More than 4,000 attendees are expected at the largest event serving
fairs, shows, exhibitions, and expositions. The mobile friendly website will allow each attendee access to the entirety of Convention infor- mation during the duration of the event. Rebekah Lee, Director of Communications; 800/516-0313

Florida YPI Member Wins IAFE Scholarship The IAFE recently announced that Joe
Jones with the St. Lucie County Fair is the recipient of this year’s IAFE Zone II Scholarship. This scholarship will provide funds for him to travel to Las Vegas to attend the IAFE Convention in November. Jeanne Keaton, Manager of the St. Lucie
County Fair says “When I saw the applica- tion in my email I immediately thought of our Joe Jones. Joe started volunteering with our fair when he was in 98h grade. Joe’s expertise was computers. In my eyes he was a pioneer as the PC Indus- try was just getting into full swing. His patience with me (with no computer back- ground) and his passion for our fair getting everything set up was com- mendable….that was 20 years ago. He never looked back and has become one of our most active volun-
teers ever! Web sites, emails Facebook, a custom ticket system and he spends his 10 days are the front gate helping with managing ticket sales, mega pass processing and submits the gate sale reports. There is not a week that goes by when we do see or hear from Joe. As we saw the need to incorporate younger folks into the “business
aspects” of our Fair Boards in our industry, Joe was our Board of Direc- tors first pick. He served on the Board of Directors for 3 years and now serves on the Board of Trustees of the St. Lucie County Fair Associa- tion, Inc. From the get go Joe has taken off running and he is one of those volunteers that we wonder “What would we do without him?” For 2016 Joe has been placed on the Door Prize, and YPI State Com-
mittees. He also will assist Jeff Shreaves with the IT services needed at our state meetings and conventions. He is a jewel for this industry and a blessing to us.
On behalf of the whole Florida Federation – congratulations Joe!
