YPI Update—Miranda Muir, Chair

Exciting Announcements from the YPI

Committee The Young Professionals group has been hard at work this summer

creating exciting new opportunities for FFF and Associates. With the support of the Florida Federation of Fairs Board of Directors, we are proud to announce the implementation of two community service based programs which will debut at the 2016 convention in St. Augustine. Modeled after the IAFE’s “Seeding Change” program, we will

be awarding two, $500 grants to fairs or associate members doing great things in their community. If you are a young professional (40 and under), organizing and promoting a community service project in your area, we want to help you go further and provide future funding. Applications for our YPI Community Service Grants can be found on the FFF’s website and should be turned in before April 1, 2016. Tell us what your young members are doing to help make the world a better place and you just might be the recipient of $500. In addition, the YPI Committee will also be giving back this

year. During our annual convention, we will be hosting a re- sources drive to assist the Saint Augustine Youth Services group. SAYS is a 24-hour residential therapeutic facility for young

males, ages 6-18, who have been diag- nosed with a mental health issue. They are always in need of gift cards, movie passes, school supplies, swim goggles, bicycle helmets, skateboard knee and elbow pads, and twin size bedding, just to name a few items. You can find more information about SAYS at their website www.sayskids.com. We hope to provide them with an overwhelming amount of donations and we need EVERYONE’S help to make it happen! We all know members of the fair industry have the biggest

hearts and are most caring and generous. Our goal is to help our young professionals keep up the good work, while giving back to the community of St. Augustine, who will graciously host our convention in the coming year.
