“30 Years of Down Home Country Fun” “30 Years of Down Home Country Fun” will be our new theme at the 30th Annual Clay County

Agricultural Fair. The fair is scheduled for March 31 – April 9, 2016. This is always an exciting time for us…a new Board was set at the end of June. They elected the

officers as follows: Chairman, Tony Tharp; Vice Chairman, Tommy Gann; Secretary, Rick Rivers; Treasurer, Sheryl Hartzog. We welcomed Cherise Stewart and Abbie Andrews as new board mem- bers this year. Due to term limits, Rick Bebout and Mary Lou Wilkinson left the board after the 2015 fair.

promotions for our 30th Annual Fair. We just completed our budgeting process and will begin, updating the rules for competitive exhibits, contacting sponsors, vendor

Job one after electing officers was committee assignments. Next was a fresh start to planning hours of operation, daily themes and

partners, and updating our website, not to mention trying to stay active on Facebook and Twitter. Yes, there’s a lot to do in the “off season.” Our new project for 2015 was completing our new RV Park. It opened for the 2015 fair. Now we are excited to open it to the gen-

eral public in the off season. We have scheduled the opening for October 1, 2015. Because of this expansion, we have added a new member to our staff. Former board member Derrell Kelly has resigned from the board and has been named Property/RV Park Man- ager. The board has selected the name “Clay Fair RV Park.” We are excited about this new opportunity. Our board has planned an Appreciation Cookout for our 2016 Superintendent’s and Ex-Officio members in October. This is al-

ways a fun time to show appreciation and share our plans. This will be held in our Early Florida Village. We will be meeting with our Midway provider, Deggeller Attractions, in November at the Volusia County Fair to plan our arm-

band promotions for 2016. We will have a new manager for the 2016 fair. The selection process is underway and the goal is to have Pete Sutton’s replace-

ment on board at least by January 2016. We will miss Pete and wish him well in his retirement. We are optimistic about our 2016 fair. If we are blessed with good weather, we think we’ll set another new record. We hope your schedule will allow you to join us and help celebrate our 30th Anniversary, March 31 – April 9, 2016.
