reach 86.57 years, almost four years longer than the male average, while in West Malling and Leybourne, women can expect to live to 85.06, surviving men by more than four years. The borough fares comparatively
well on other health issues with fig- ures showing that deprivation and child obesity are lower than the Eng- land and county average and levels of GCSE attainment, breastfeeding and smoking at time of delivery bet- ter than the rest of the country.

THE health of people living in Tonbridge and Malling is gener- ally better than the national aver- age and life expectancy is high. Three quarters of the population
live in areas classified as the least de- prived 40% nationally, but there are health inequalities in the borough, according to latest figures from Kent Public Health Observatory. Life expectancy at age 65 has the highest average in Kings Hill, where people can expect to notch up another 24.46 years, and lowest in Burham, Eccles and Wouldham where the figure is just 15.78. In Snodland East, 65-year-old res-
idents can expect to live a further 16.51 years, whereas just across the electoral boundary in the Snodland Westward, the figure rises to 20.03. East Peckham and Golden Green has the highest total of elective – booked – hospital admissions for over-65s while Kings Hill has one of the lowest. For emergency hospital admis- sions, Snodland East tops the league with Wateringbury second and Kings Hill among the lowest. Zombie turns up alive and well
A SNAKE which sloped off in Lark- field has been reunited with its owner after more than three months on the run. Zombie, a 10ft python belonging
to Chris Cini fromFielding Road,was found hanging about above the car wash at Tesco, Leybourne Lakes. The female coastal carpet python was discovered by shocked workers
at the superstore when they were washing a customer’s car. Zombie went missing in June and
many of Mr Cini’s neighbours joined him to search for the slippery cus- tomer, whowas spotted at one point close to Larkfield Surgery in Chaucer Way. But she gave them the slip and Mr Cini was starting to give up hope
when she turned up at the car wash. Mr Cini managed to recover Zom-
bie – with the help of friends and a very long ladder – and said she seemed largely unscathed, if a little un-scaled, following her escapade.
