LOCAL MP and sports minister Tracey Crouch met members of Snod- land Community Alcohol Partnership (Cap) at Samays Youth Centre, Holmesdale Technology College. Cap was launched in Snodland in October 2012 in a bid to reduce underage drink- ing across the town. It is a part- nership which includes Kent County, Ton- bridge and Malling and Snodland coun- cils, the police, Holmesdale College, local retailers and pubs. It provides support and training for retailers and educates young people about the harm of under-age drinking. Ms Crouch chose the winning entry in Samays’ poster competition

to highlight the dangers of under-age drinking. She said: "It was a pleasure to see how the Cap is addressing the ed- ucation of young people and the local community whilst supporting responsible retailing of alcohol. "Seeing so many partners working together shows that expanding alcohol education beyond the classroom and engaging with local busi- nesses and retailers can bring benefits, and I look forward to seeing this work continue."
