Innovation & Change in Pharmacy Practice
As its name asserts, the Innovation & Change in Pharmacy Practice Award’s principal aim is to reward innovation within pharmacy. The judging panel will be looking for ways in which a project is both innovative and successful.
This Award identifi es individuals and teams working within community pharmacy in Scotland whose ideas or inventions have, or could lead to, improvement in the patient experience in all areas of care throughout their community.
Applications are invited from both the independent and chain sectors. General Awards Criteria:
• Enthusiasm and commitment to the enhancement of pharmacy in Scotland
• Exceptional quality above and beyond what is expected • An ability to overcome challenges in pursuit of goals
• How performance has been measured and benchmarked. How successful was the project? Considerations:
• Activities that may involve pioneering new models or systems that improve pharmacists’ impact as members of the healthcare team; patient safety and outcomes; patient care in general and other professional development
• Development of a system or tool for pharmacy that will directly or immediately impact patient care or the profession and/or serve as an example or template for other pharmacy professionals to follow
• Measurable benefi ts of your initiative. Please use fi nancial data wherever possible (percentages, ratios, graphic images etc.), as well as other statistics to show how your project has brought added value, profi ts, customer satisfaction improvements, productivity increases or any other benefi t relevant to this award category.
Who Can Enter?
This category is open to all pharmacists working in either independent or chain pharmacies. Previous Innovation & Change in Pharmacy Practice Award entrants, including winners, are also welcome to submit an entry. All entries will be judged by an independent panel of experts.

Pharmacy Business Development
This award category is open to all pharmacy businesses that are delivering commercial success and enhancing the health status of their local population.
This award helps to demonstrate how pharmacies can, through their core business activities, help achieve improved health care and conditions for both patients and colleagues.
The Pharmacy Business Development Award targets pharmacies looking to improve their local community by enhancing health promotion, supporting skills, training and employment; or creating a better working environment. It will honour those business owners who have taken their companies, teams and results to “the next level” of success.
The winning business must be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership and vision and a successful performance against its objectives. Judges are looking for evidence of exceptional growth and/or increased trading profi t, success in fi nding new opportunities, new product/service development and/ or new business development techniques.
