Pharmacist of the Future


The Pharmacist of the Future Award is open to all students in their 3rd or 4th year of the MPharm at either the University of Strathclyde or Robert Gordon University in Scotland.


Do you have what it takes to be named the Pharmacist of the Future? Perhaps you have made a signifi cant contribution to your University through engagement with local groups and organisation’s, demonstrated the confi dence and capability to talk with schools and community forums about pharmacy services or become involved with wider health promotion.


If you, or a pharmacy student or trainee you know deserves recognition for their remarkable and leading approach to pharmacy, then do not hesitate to enter or nominate them for the Pharmacist of the Future Award.


General Awards Criteria:


• Enthusiasm and commitment to the enhancement of community pharmacy in Scotland


• Exceptional quality above and beyond what is expected • An ability to overcome challenges in pursuit of goals • How performance has been measured and benchmarked. Considerations:


• Demonstration of knowledge, enthusiasm, commitment and potential to make a real difference to the pharmacy profession on graduation;


• Commitment and engagement within education


• Involvement in promotion of the profession, either within established education or to other groups


• Demonstration of signifi cant commitment to citizenship while at University. This may be demonstrated by activities such as participation in staff/student liaison committees, launching an initiative which has benefi ted their peers or acted as a role model for others.

Pre-Registration Student of the Year


The winner of this award will have achieved proven outcomes, whether these are clinical, gained effi ciencies in daily working practices or simply promoting better relations between the pharmacy, patients and other health and social care practitioners.


Does your student have what it takes to be named Pre-Registration of the Year?


Perhaps they have made a signifi cant contribution to their community’s health and wellbeing throughout engagement with local groups and organisation’s, demonstrated the confi dence and capability to talk with schools and community forums about pharmacy services or become involved with wider health promotion.


General Awards Criteria:


• Enthusiasm and commitment to the enhancement of community pharmacy in Scotland


• Exceptional quality above and beyond what is expected • An ability to overcome challenges in pursuit of goals • How performance has been measured and benchmarked. Considerations:


• Demonstration of developing their communication skills and taken full advantage of their colleague’s experience.


• Evidence of building relationships with patients, colleagues and fellow healthcare professionals.


• Demonstration of developed effi ciencies within the dispensary by introducing new processes or shown the entrepreneurial skills to improve existing SOPs.


Who Can Enter? This award is open to all current pre-registration trainees who have made a signifi cant contribution to the pharmacy practice, and who have demonstrated their aptitude and commitment to pharmaceutical care services, patients and the profession so far during their training year.
