This one’s a
heart-stopper

I was having coffee one day with Dan Champagne, VP of the CHEO Foundation, and we got talking about the Minto-CHEO Dream of a Lifetime home. He said it had an indoor hockey rink. “Can we feature it as a man cave in
Bounder?” I asked. “Certainly,” he said. “But it won’t be
ready until Sept. 9.” This was a day after we were to
ship Bounder to the printers. So I made arrangements to have the pages sent late, and planned for the photo-shoot. The night before Press Day, Bounder’s
photo guy, Todd Langille, Dan and I headed to the Minto Dream of a Lifetime home. There was still a crew there putting on the finishing touches.

After a brief tour of this fantastic Minto
home, we headed to the man cave in the basement. It was a heart stopper. We headed right
to the rink that has the look of real ice. It was supplied by Smart Rinks. The boards are just like the boards on
any hockey rink. It had a hockey net and score clock. On the walls were murals of fans in the stands, and that really made the area stand out. It even has a change room, complete
with a water dispenser built right into the wall.
We headed to the area that boasted a
gigantic projection screen. Signature AV had completely wired the basement. It has two televisions, a kick-ass sound system and
