built-in camera. The built-in maps display a

great detail of refinement, and the unit boasts such tricks as “touch waypoints”. With my old Meridian, I could only set waypoints on the ground or by entering multi-digit co-ordinates. With the eXplorist 610 you can

simply tap a location on the map where you would like to go, and it automatically tracks you in that direction. This feature is ideal for those who party hunt in organized

previous year, while 299 birds were bagged during the fall hunt – also a slight decrease from 2010. The hunt is currently underway in

Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) 64, 65, 66A, 67, 68, 73, 76, 77, 78, 80, 81, 82, 84, 85, 87, 89, 90, 91, 92 and 93. Non-residents are allowed

to participate in Ontario’s fall turkey hunt provided they have a valid hunting card, an Ontario small-game license, a wild turkey license and game seal, and have attended the Ontario Wild Turkey Seminar. Although I have no stats on non-resident turkey enthusiasts the province hosts each year, I’m guessing they are few and far between.

is pre-loaded with the comprehensive Summit Series topographic maps of Canada. It also features modern, user- friendly touch screen, an integrated digital voice recorder for those like me who take notes afield, and even a
