we in partnership with a Blantyre construction company, who had recently built toilets for us at the Primary School in Likhubula, were awarded £3000 to build six houses.


The Village Chiefs and our


committee representatives have now selected the families who are to benefi t - one from each of the six villages.


One lady was disabled, another is a widow with three children and HIV Positive, an elderly widow keeping orphans, an aged widow, another aged widow with no home and a lastly a child headed family whose parents are dead, the eldest 13 years, others 10 and 6 years and a young baby. In her poverty the vulnerable elder sister was made pregnant as she was trying to look for food to feed her sisters.


One has to be really very impressed and


humbled by the way the


selection meeting dealt with the allocation of houses and looked after those in greatest need.


Obviously this drives us to try to do more. Work has now started on the six houses. Project completion is scheduled for end of September. You can follow progress and our history at www.dunblanelikhubulalink.org.uk.
