Volunteering Matters off ers a helping hand to Forth Valley


Volunteering Matters is proud to announce a new, exciting, Big Lottery funded project called Help At Hand which has launched in the Forth Valley area. The project will support vulnerable and isolated elderly people living in the Forth Valley to maintain their independence in their home. Support led by volunteers will include a handyman service, a befriending provision as well as access to group activities in the local community.


Formerly known as Community Service Volunteers (CSV), Volunteering Matters is the UK’s leading volunteering and social action charity and is currently recruiting, training, matching and supporting volunteers who will provide befriending support to vulnerable and excluded older people, through Help at Hand and other projects in the area.


Volunteering Matters delivers the Retired and Senior Volunteering Programme (RSVP) and its projects to the Forth Valley area which include: · · · ·


A handyperson service which does small odd jobs in older peoples’ homes Knitting groups which meet up for regular coff ee mornings Opportunities to help out in hospitals and schools A chance to lead and take part in walking groups
