September can be a quiet time in the garden as most of your pruning won’t really need to be done until October when it is cooler. This is a period when you often see a little life come back to the garden after the heat of the summer so make the most of the garden before you do prune everything. Many of you will have had friends and family out to stay during the summer and you may have noticed changes that you would like to make to your garden. This is the best time to put these ideas into action. Don’t sit on your hands and wait until springtime as that may be too late to catch a busy contractor for summer time.
There are many enjoyable things you can do to change a garden to make it more usable. Shading in the garden created by a new tree or a pergola over a summer kitchen area. Outdoor seating, lighting, a water feature, a courtyard, adding pots to a terrace
or general do over of the garden and of course getting rid of that tatty old lawn that has just looked terrible for years.
