Free Tour? Free Presentation? Free insight into Spanish culture? Free glass of Mistela? Free Hat?
Calling all Groups, Clubs, U3A members, Societies, Networking groups..... September is the time for getting active again after the long hot summer. The Maria Soler Bag Shop and Museum in Gata de Gorgos makes for a perfect group outing. Large and airy, the shop and museum is keen to show itself off as an important part of Spanish heritage. Free Tour: The Museum is run by talented
designer Maria, who now
heads the family business. “We have so much to show” she says. “We used to work with traditional materials like straw, raffia and palm leaves. We still do sometimes, but we want to show and explain how the demands of modern day consumers have influenced us to use modern materials such as canvas, pvc, cotton, vinyl, and organic textiles too”.
Free insight into Spanish culture: A visit to the Maria Soler Bag Shop and Museum will broaden your knowledge about Spain and its traditions. Formed back in 1880, this is one of the last factories of its type in Spain. The original workshops are still used, always respecting the original
demand
for high quality
Free Presentation: Maria’s brother Jaime, who looks after the day to day
running of the factory, will
deliver a presentation in English for approximately an hour, explaining the processes, the changes, the innovations, and the modifications in production necessary to work with modern materials, designs.
and to deliver modern
products but these days incorporating bright and colourful modern designs, a wide choice of fabrics, items even made of ecological leather and skin materials. Free glass of Mistela and a Free Hat: Maria Soler and her family are extremely welcoming. Her father still works in the business and together this family firm exudes friendliness. All visitors will be offered a drink of Mistela wine from the Jalon Valley which is only 11km further down the road, and a free hat made at the factory which acts as a reminder of your visit. Soler handbags is carving a way into the future for itself. As well as being a talented textile designer Maria Soler is everything you would expect of a modern European businesswoman. She is determined to get across her message about the benefits of Spanish products compared with poor quality products available from the Far East. Maria likes using the word “Quality.” “I would really like people to visit, see and understand the Museum and Shop, and then they will appreciate the difference.
Our handbags are built to last and give many years of faithful service.” “All groups are welcome to visit us. You will be well treated. Please come and help us to spread the word. And for the future, should your group desire, we can develop, design and manufacture any specific bag requirement that your group might need. For example we have produced laptop bags for businesses, satchels for schools, and bowl bags for bowls clubs.
All
beautifully
personalised for the business, school or club and giving a real sense of pride. In fact subject to a small minimum amount, we can pretty much produce any kind of bag in our factory, Jaime and I look forward to showing you how!” What a great venue for your Club or Society members to
visit...come and broaden your knowledge about Spain and become involved in history for a short while.
