reassuring to know that an ambulance will be on the way and carrying the latest life saving equipment”.
Very recently Peter Summers who lives in Vall de Gallinera near Pego has signed up for his family to become a member of the Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea’s emergency ambulance service.
Female Focus spoke with Peter to find out why he has chosen to become a member. “It’s mainly for two reasons” says Peter. “Firstly, our local ambulance service near us has recently been cut for money saving purposes, and secondly when my mother was ill, she had a fall and had suffered a stroke but the ambulance that arrived was nothing more than a glorified taxi. There was only the driver, and he had no assistant to monitor any equipment or my mother, so my mother did not receive any actual medical attention until she reached the hospital. That’s not a good thing at all when you have suffered a stroke”. “Now we have signed up for the service provided by Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea and if something happens it is extremely reassuring to know that an ambulance will be on the way immediately and carrying the latest life saving equipment”. Peter of course is absolutely right about the importance of the speed of an ambulance reaching you in the event of an emergency whether at your home or away from home. The Asociacion’s state-of-the-art ambulances are as close to a mobile intensive care unit as you can get, and are fitted with the latest lifesaving equipment. And the route to your house (even if you live in a very remote area like Peter and his family) is pre-stored on-board so that the ambulance can reach you in the quickest time possible. Not only this, but when you become a member the details of any current medication(s) and other vital health information about you will be recorded and also stored on-board, meaning that treatment can begin sooner than if initial assessments had to be made.
