Chamber network continues to grow

NEW MEMBER SafeDeposits Scotland

NEW MEMBER B-DACS

Glasgow Chamber of Commerce is continuing to expand its network in numbers and in the range of sectors covered. In this issue we welcome an

air conditioning company and a tenancy deposits protection service. B-DACS offers air

conditioning installation, repair and maintenance, serving customers mainly in the Greater Glasgow and Edinburgh areas. It provides modern air

conditioning that enables efficient heating and cooling for commercial properties and houses. B-DACS works with its

customers to reduce their running costs and energy consumption through using the latest sustainable technology. Its customers are in the commercial, public sector,

hospitality, retail, medical and education sectors and in IT and computer server rooms. Te company has seen

considerable growth since Brian Drummond formed it as a one-man operation in Glasgow in 2003. Initially a home-based

business, its growth has seen it add to its workforce. B-DACS now employs 17 people and has office premises in the Panorama Business Village just off the M8. B-DACS has based its growth

and reputation on a commitment to excellent service, high-quality workmanship and straightforward communication and now works for clients in a growing footprint across the Central Belt of Scotland. SafeDeposits Scotland is an

independent tenancy deposit scheme that currently holds

60 per cent of the protected deposits in Scotland. Te not-for-profit

organisation, which is approved by the Scotish Government, provides free registration of residential tenancy deposits from its offices in Glasgow. SafeDeposits Scotland acts as

a third party to hold the tenant’s deposit during the tenancy in order to be able to return it to the tenant at the end of their tenancy if they have met the terms of their agreement. Te deposits are held in a

ring-fenced account, separate from the organisation’s own funds. SafeDeposits Scotland also

offers an alternative dispute resolution process service if the landlord and tenant cannot agree how the deposit should be agreed at the end of the tenancy.

Te organisation is an

innovative partnership between landlords, leting agents and tenants whose members include the Association of Residential Leting Agents, the National Association of Estate Agents, the National Union of Students Scotland, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Scotish Association of Landlords, and Te Dispute Service. Susan McKay, Head of

Partnership and Membership Operations at Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “We would like to welcome these two new members along with all the other additions to our growing Glasgow Chamber network. “We are continuing to build

the spread and range of our membership, increasing the networking and potential opportunities for all involved.”
