• Dunblane Cathedral Handbell Ringers, Cathedral Halls. Beginner adults from 6.30- 7.30pm. Those of High School age, 5.30-6.30pm. Children in Primary 5-7 from 6.30- 7.30pm. • Sunday 1st March, Concert in the Cathedral, at 3pm. Joseph Long will give a piano recital featuring Chopin’s music and focusing on Chopin’s link with Dunblane through his last concert tour, which was at the invitation of Jane Stirling of Kippenross House in 1848. • Monday 2nd March, Cathedral Guild, 7.30pm Cathedral Hall. “Scotland’s Future” This is a wide-ranging topic concerning important issues.


It follows on from the Church of


Scotland’s community consultations before last year’s referendum. The speaker will be Fiona Buchanan, the Local Involvement Officer for the Church and Society Council of the Church of Scotland. Anyone interested in this important topic is welcome to attend.


• Wednesday 4th March, Dunblane and District Gardening Club, 2.00pm in the Cathedral Halls. The speaker will be Duncan Peet who will be speaking about the ‘Historic Gardens of Scotland’. Visitors are most welcome to come along to the meeting at a cost of £1.50.





Thursday 5th March, Central Scotland Branch of the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club (SOC). The meeting is at the Allan Centre, Bridge of Allan, at 7.30pm. We ask for a small donation towards the costs: £2 for members & £3 for non-members. Open to all. Booking not required. Title: Our birds in Africa by Will Cresswell Many European birds wintering in Africa are declining - what is happening to them there? Field studies in Africa, tagging and following birds on migration, answers some of the questions.

Friday 6th March, Cathedral Guild, 10.30am at the Cathedral for World Day of Prayer. This service is supported by the local Council of Churches.


Friday 6th March, Forth Valley U3A. Joyce Begg will be revealing her life as a writer at 2pm in the Mayfield Centre, St Ninian’s, Stirling. You are warmly invited to come along, enjoy the talk about a writer’s life and discover more about U3A whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and chatting with some of the members. Saturday 7th March, The 9th Dunblane Potato Day at the Braeport Centre, from 1pm to 4pm. There will be over 40 varieties of seed potato, onion sets, vegetable seeds on sale and refreshments by Wendy Gudgeon.


• Sunday 8th March, Fairtrade Afternoon Tea, Cathedral Hall, 3pm-5pm. The Arts Guild invites you to come for a relaxing cup of Fairtrade tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and listen to live music by Dunblane’s talented young musicians. Free admission - donations to charity welcome.


• Monday 9th March, Dunblane Arthritis Care Branch meeting 1.30-3.30pm Victoria Hall when we will have a jewellery making demonstration from Karen. New members always welcome with details from Pat Anderson 01786 822505.
