Primary 3 – Newton Primary School

Following our Scottish context for learning, we have now moved on to planning for our next context, ‘Egyptian Engineering’. All classes in the school are exploring different themes for our focus on Sciences, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics this term. We are investigating aspects of Ancient Egyptian engineering, with links to their daily lives. We are learning how the pyramids were built and their main purpose. This involves looking at the design and construction, as well as mummification rituals and hieroglyphics. We are also going to investigate the importance of the River Nile, which will culminate in a Science and Technology week being held throughout the school on the 16th-20th March.
