Personal Alarm Systems


Personal emergency alarm monitoring via a waterproof alarm, worn around the neck, links the user to the monitoring centre's staff using an existing telephone line or wireless technology. When the personal alarm is pressed, it activates an alarm in the response centre, and operators speedily organise assistance of either family, friend or emergency services. Respite


Respite refers to short term, temporary care provided to older people with a disability so their families can take a break from the daily routine of care giving. Services can be provided at home, a day-care centre or residential care facilities. Respite can be as short as an hour or as long as a week. You may be eligible for HACC funding or an Australian-government funded Home Care Package if you are a person who is frail, with a disability or dementia or HIV/AIDS, a war veteran/ widow or a carer for any of these people.
