SUPPORT


Home & Community Care (HACC) Program


HACC is a basic home help program funded by the Australian Government for the people over age 65. If you only need a couple of services to help you to stay living in your own home, it is best to access them through the HACC program. There is no formal assessment required to access these services. You can often contact a service provider directly.


Services funded through the HACC Program include:


Meals and other food services, domestic assistance, domestic assistance, centre-based day care, transport to shopping or appointments information, home maintenance and social support. The Australian Government funds HACC service providers so they can deliver affordable services to you. There is usually a small fee for each service and the amount depends on your income and the type and number of services you want. If you have more complex needs, a Home Care Package may be right for you as you will be provided with a co-ordinated package of services tailored to meet your care needs. To determine if you are eligible for a Government funded Home Care Package you need to be assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT).
