Zoopla sponsor Albion Foundation
Zoopla, principal sponsor of West Bromwich Albion FC has become the main sponsor of the Albion Foundation, which delivers sports and education opportunities in the local community. Over the next two years,
Zoopla.co.uk will be fundraising for the Foundation and has pledged £50,000. Zoopla has also launched ‘Golden Goals’ to help to raise additional funds for the Albion Foundation and a number of other local charities. Every time West Bromwich Albion FC scores a goal in a Premier League match this season, Zoopla will donate £1,000 to charity. £500 will go to the Albion Foundation and £500 will be shared amongst other West Midlands based charities
including Ideal for All, Krunch, Compton Hospice, CLIC Sargent (West Midlands Region) and Macmillan (West Midlands Region). Alex Chesterman, Founder & CEO of Zoopla said, “We are delighted to support the Albion Foundation and a host of other local charities. The Albion Foundation do outstanding work in the local community as do these other charities and the more West Brom score this season, the more we will donate – go Baggies!” Rob Lake, Director of the
Albion Foundation said, “It is fantastic to have the support of Zoopla. This funding will make such a difference and enable us to develop the crucial work we are doing to Inspire to Achieve”.
Tyler Estates support Macmillan
Tyler Estates are raising money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support. For every property sold or let Tyler Estates
is donating a sum of money to Macmillan. So far £500 has been raised. Jeremy Tyler, Managing Director of Tyler Estates said, “We are thrilled to be working with Macmillan Nurses to raise awareness and much needed funds. It will be nice to give something back to the community and everyone knows someone who has suffered with Cancer or beaten it. The nurses do a great job and it is the least we can do.”

TheLife Alison and Clare’s 13 miles for hospice
Alison Palmer and Clare Smith, office manager and senior negotiator at Hennings Moir, property sharing estate agent in Saltash, raised £245 for St Luke’s Hospice by taking part in its Midnight Walk for Women on 21st July. Alison and Clare set off
for their 13 mile walk from Home Park Stadium, the home of Plymouth Argyle FC, at 11pm and returned four hours and 15 minutes later, at 3:15am. The first ever St Luke’s
Hospice Midnight Walk for Women took place in 2007 and has since become its largest annual event with thousands of women taking part and raising thousands of pounds for the Hospice, which provides specialist care to more than 2,000 people every year with terminal illnesses across Plymouth, South
West Devon and East Cornwall. Clare said, “Alison and I set
ourselves the challenge of taking part in the 13 mile walk back in March and are delighted to have completed it with only a few aches and a couple of blisters along with £245 for the Hospice, which provides excellent and vital care for its patients.”
Bridgfords smash fundraising target
Bridgfords have smashed their pledge to raise £20,000 for Manchester’s The Christie and the NSPCC over two years, hitting that target whilst only 15 months into their fundraising pledge. Staff from Bridgfords’ 87 branches across the North West and Yorkshire have been participating in fundraising activities including charity balls, talent nights and a golf day, the Three Peaks challenge, a Manchester to Liverpool bike ride, a skydive and a ‘56 miles in 24 hours’ hike. The team of 500 negotiators, managers, administrators and mortgage consultants is on course to raise £40,000 by March 2013. All money will go
to the NSPCC and Europe’s largest cancer centre The Christie, which provides care, treatment and support to those affected by cancer. Vanessa Simmons, Bridgfords Prestbury branch manager, has been co-ordinating the campaign across the business, including raising £7,000 from the largest event yet, the Summer Marquee Ball, held at Alderley Edge Cricket Club in June 28, she says, “We hosted a charity ball in November last year and it was a huge success, with over £6,000 raised. This summer’s sold out event was even bigger and we’re thrilled that Virgin Money have agreed to help us with our fundraising activity.”
