haart opens in Plaistow haart estate agents has opened a new branch in Plaistow - right in the heart of Olympic East London, following a £25,000 makeover with new fascias, walls and carpets and computer and telephone systems. The branch comes with a break out area where customers can discuss their needs in a more relaxed, informal environment. Heading the branch is David Karrass. An estate agent in East London for 15 years, he is joined by Matthew Gardner, as Assistant Branch Manager, also with the company for 15 years. They are supported by Paul Long, Senior Negotiator and the latest addition to the team, George Skaros, Negotiator. David Karrass said, “The


response from the public to the opening of haart has been extremely positive. People really seem to like the branding, which is very different from other estate agents in Plaistow, and this is already being reflected in the number of requests we are receiving for valuations in the area – which is way above what we forecasted.” Pictured from left to right are

The team welcomed the Deputy Mayor Elect, Councillor Anne Roberts, who officially opened the party, along with a representative from Woking Football Club, Eagle Radio, many of County’s loyal landlords, tenants and members of the public. 35 years at Connells Connells Chief Executive Stuart Flavell has recently celebrated his 35th anniversary

BPF appoints new Board members The British Property Federation has appointed Becky


Worthington, Deputy Chief Executive of Quintain, and Jonathan Thompson, International Chairman Real Estate, Building and Construction at KPMG, to its Board.


Both will join the Board,


which provides corporate governance to the BPF, on 4th September for a three year term. They succeed Ian Marcus from Evans Property Group and John Richards, from Värde, whose terms have now ended. These appointments follow changes at the Federation’s AGM in July. Alan Leibowitz, Joint Managing Director of Dorrington, took over as Honorary Treasurer from Trevor Moross, also Joint Managing Director of Dorrington, who had held the position for the last six years. Bill Hughes, Managing


Director of Legal & General Property, became the BPF’s Junior Vice President and is in line to become President in 2014. Liz Peace, the BPF’s Chief


Executive, said, “I am delighted that Becky and Jonathan will be joining the BPF board. Together they bring enormous experience in the finance and construction industry. “Our continued success in
