When technology like this develops it is up to us as manufacturers to develop display to incorporate it. We are already looking at developing ranges of Light Panels that rotate or have a touch screen facility... watch this space!” Kraft’s Jared Saggers: “Smartphone
applications, unheard of three years ago, have huge potential for agents who will, very soon, need to think about investing.” MPL’s Harry Simons, “QR Codes – these
enable iPhone users to download property details from digital display screens in shop windows. The QR codes are barcodes that
makes storing and retrieving data very fast. “When you scan the code, it redirects
you to content stored online. The potential for an estate agent could come when you add a QR code to marketing literature or an advertising board, then as a prospective client walks past a agency window they could use their mobile phone to find out all the details via a direct link to that property on the agent’s website.” Simply Ace, “Although many agents are
ready to embrace the technology that introduces multiple LCD screens and light panels, most still like to hold a piece of paper. iPads and iPad tables are a handy sales aid but we’re not sure if the common piece of paper will ever be fully replaced. “Having said that, in the future the LCD
screens will keep getting bigger and brighter. iPad technology will become cheaper and more readily available for the display market. Maybe, just maybe, we may see a decline in the A4 piece of paper…”
