AGENCY DESIGN

ime was, setting up as an estate agency was simple. You took a small high street premises, had a bit of a fascia made, got a desk, two chairs and a filing cabinet. Final detail was a simple
window display with property particulars. How times change. In a competitive
market with several agencies in each town chasing properties – presence counts. High visibility on the street means everything to agencies – even if most buyers come to them online, because when the house hunt gets serious, the buyers visit the agent. So how do you make your agency look smarter, brighter, groovier?
STAR STUDDED SCREENINGS There’s a never ending demand for property ‘porn’ and the British are, apparently, hooked on gazing at properties they can’t afford, so what more could you offer than big bright screens delivering a rotation of beautifully presented homes?
Fairfields say
the illuminated digital screen is the best!
displays is changing fast. In some agencies multiple digital screens are being used in place of property detail cards to great effect. Janice Fairfield, Marketing Director, Fairfield Displays & Lighting, says, “Larger and larger screens are coming onto the market, in some cases, a really large screen on a rear wall creates a central focus. “Fairfield is launching a 19-inch digital
screen powered via 6mm display rods fitted between floor and ceiling. The digital screen can be positioned at any height on the rods and illuminated property details can be positioned above or below.”
Our clients want
something that’s exciting and unique – it’s up to us to give them that.’
These digital displays help agencies to
communicate with potential buyers and sellers, says Harry Simons at MPL. “The new solutions allow agents to display high quality images of properties, particularly out-of-hours, and it’s really easy change the display to present new properties.”
THE FABULOUS LED The emerging technology involves the use of LED light panels that sit behind the individual property details and illuminate them. Harry Simons at MPL explains, “These can be mounted to acrylic panels so that light travels through the acrylic and lights the edges. We have seen these suspended on cables, but MPL has bespoke freestanding units that look fantastic and are brighter than any other display.” Janice Fairfield agrees, “We have seen a
trend towards illuminated property details and one thing that is certain is that, with the growth of LED lamps, all property details of the future will be illuminated. The cost of illuminating a property is incredibly low, using practically no electricity, you can achieve up to an 85 per cent saving on electricity compared to a 50 watt lamp.” Dave Paddock at Mid West Displays has
an appropriately electrical comment; “We have been totally blown away with the popularity of our LED Light Panels within the estate agency market. Since unveiling our offering in 2009 we have constantly been developing other designs. Our customers want something exciting and unique, it is up to us to give them that.
