A police offi cer occasionally parked his cruiser in residential areas to watch for speeders. One morning he was staked out in a driveway when he saw a large dog trot up to his car.
The dog stopped and sat just out of arm’s reach. No matter how hard the police offi cer tried to coax him to come for a pat on the head, the dog refused to budge.

Hi Paul Doyle: First of all, I LOVE your paper and have been reading it a long time. As you can see, I’ve been planning this photo for more than a year and had the perfect opportunity at fam- ily gathering in Mt. Clemens, Michigan this past June/July. My family has been meeting up for feather bowling for many years, and my Sebastopol sister and I fi nally made it! Took photos in- side and out and hope you like them. Missed Upbeat Times November issue I believe, but snuck in a Detroit entertainment paper instead. Jambo!!! The Samburu tribe, located near the Sambura National Wildlife Park, in Kenya, Africa, were really excited to get a hold of the August edition of the Upbeat Times. Gary and Tonya Gi- usso of Geyserville went on a camera safari this August to Kenya and Tanzania.
Having gone to 6 of the largest wildlife parks,
they also travelled to the Samburu to spend some time with the tribe. Noah, Joseph, and Jeremiah of the Samburu asked if they could PLEASE have the newspaper. They knew how to read some English, and they really wanted the paper to read and teach to their fellow tribal members.
They even asked if the Giussos

After a while the police offi cer decided to move to another location. When he pulled out of the driveway and looked back he learned the reason for the dog’s stubbornness.
The dog quickly picked up the newspaper the patrol car had been parked on and dutifully ran back to his master’s house.
