Santa Rosa, CA. ~ Did you see bright pink shirts all over Sonoma County on September 10th? Did you wonder who they were and what they were doing? Over 1,000 volunteers took part in United Way’s Day of Caring. Those folks in the neon pink shirts donated their time and talents to nonprof- its, parks and neighborhoods across the county as they com- pleted more than 80 projects. In addition to coordinating


volunteer efforts throughout the community, United Way offered everyone a chance to be part of Day of Caring. The “Drive Event” invited the com- munity to donate children’s books to the Free Bookmo- bile of Sonoma County, or donate food, clothing, house- hold goods and blood to the Redwood Empire Food Bank, Goodwill and Blood Source re- spectively.
