My drive to succeed as a person opened up the doors to infi nite interests. Weather, geography, painting, gardening, construc- tion & more. All sub- jects I learned have become useful tools of my ‘personal suc- cesses’ and in gen-

Santa Rosa, CA. ~ A long time ago, when I was a young boy, I was given the name ‘Underdog’ by one of my mother’s friends. I think she meant it as an endear- ing name for me...I think. Later on in life, some 20 years
later, as a young adult, I had a conversation with her about why she called me that(she has since passed). She told me it was because
if anyone would
make it in life and turn out ok after challenges I’d been go- ing through, just growing up, it would be me. She said, “You cried a lot and always seemed to be having challenges. St. Helena and in Tahoe. I played frisbee golf, regular golf and went swimming, all while taking courses in college toward my own personal interests, i.e.: art, television production, histo-

that I was going to be a predict- ed loser, or failure, yet, as I was growing up, it was thought by others that I might. As time went on, I was gifted
an apology by various people from my past who said, ‘I was wrong about you’, ‘I used to pick on you on the bus on the way to school because you talk- ed to much and it bothered me’. I told them, “It’s ok, I was just being myself, and even as a kid, I loved life with exuberance, and even more now. Without these character shaping experi- ences, I would not be the per- son I am today, and I know it sounds strange... thank you!” May this issue fi nd you well!
