What’s Up FALL Guide!
GLEN ELLEN, CA. ~ As cellphones become a more and more important tool in our lives, both business and personal, it can be extremely frustrating if they do not work when you are at home or in your offi ce. Most who live in a rural area where their phone can come in the handiest know that de- spite the huge efforts of the cell phone providers there are still areas where the service is poor to non-existent. If one of these places is where you make a liv- ing or come home to at night or on the weekend you can miss important calls or even not be able to call out in an emergen- cy. Luckily there are two solu- tions for this problem. The fi rst is what is called a Micro Cell. These can be purchased from most cell phone providers and connect to your existing high speed internet connection and act as a small cell phone tower ensuring reliable coverage in your home or offi ce. These are a great tool but do not always cover the entire area and are not
of any use if you live in a rural area that does not have good access to reliable high speed internet. The second option and something I have experi- ence work-
ing with and installing is a cell phone booster, this requires that you have at least a weak signal on some part of your property for a high gain an- tenna to be mounted. Then the signal is boosted and rebroad- cast at your location providing a clean, clear cellphone signal where none was present before, or it was extremely weak. Sig- nal boosters can work with all providers and the 3G and 4G bandwidth, so your phones in- ternet will work as well. You can install a booster in almost any location, from an apart-
unique music at clubs and festivals all over the Bay Area.

ment that has a week signal, to a rural cabin. They even make mobile sys- tems to install in your car if you commute through an area with limited service and make calls during your drive. In my expe- rience, the booster systems do a very good, and reliable job of increasing the signal strength, your productivity and peace of mind. I worked in a home with 1 bar of signal on the patio and after the booster was install and confi gured the entire home had 3-4 bars of solid signal with clear phone calls, where you could not dial out with the cell.
