Dunblane Library News: Bookbug Sessions on the 3rd and 24th April from 10.30-11am

The View gallery at Dunblane Library has some spaces left this year to display your work. There is wall hanging space and two display cabinets, these are booked on a monthly basis and the Library can facilitate a launch evening/afternoon.

Victoria Bowles is hosting an exhibition in The View during April. I graduated this summer from Glasgow School of Art with a BA Hons in Textile Design, specialising in print. My work has a bold geometric design style with an eye for detail, colour and tone to ensure a fresh approach to print design. My designs are created using a mixture of mediums to ensure depth and texture to my work. I will be displaying work from my graduate collection as well as a mini collection of new work based on the carving in Dunblane Cathedral.

The Victoria Hall has become a registered Scottish charity No. SCO44567 and 8 people have been named as Trustees. Ann Dickson, Stuart Dodds, Jo Leask. John Lord, Bob Moir, Robert Moir, Peter Sullivan and David Symon. This is a prudent move by the volunteers and is a formality which will make little difference to how the Hall is run as the same team of dedicated volunteers is still in place to continue running the Hall for the benefit of the community.

What is it? .. A Grand Forth Valley U3A Quiz!

Note the date in your diary NOW .. This is your chance to give the answers to questions and help your team towards a prize (not as valuable as those offered on TV quiz shows, but to be cherished nevertheless). It will stimulate memory and thinking processes, encourage contribution within a team and offer a challenge, some fun and, of course tea and cake. That’s covering all the reasons for being in the U3A, so, even if you have yet to join, come along to the quiz! Teams will be formed on the day so the more the merrier.
