A Mum’s Search for Dyslexia Help
Mum of two, Catherine is the first to admit that, in her search for help for her dyslexic son, she almost missed out on Cellfield “because I thought it was not for me… it sounded too new and different”.
Being a teacher herself, she was sceptical about Cellfield, a scientific brain plasticity based treatment for dyslexia and other language processing difficulties. However, she looked at the evidence, followed her instinct and in the end both her children benefitted hugely from doing Cellfield: “It changed the lives of my two children, especially my son”, she says, “he would now describe himself as a reader, an avid reader”, something she never thought she would hear because of his dyslexia.
Cellfield, says Catherine is “well known in Australia, New Zealand and America, but fairly unknown here. However, the person who brought Cellfield to the UK is in Stirling”. The person she is talking about is Fiona Macdiarmid, former teacher and Headteacher who also runs the successful Kip McGrath Education Centre in Stirling, a trusted source of tutoring for many families for over 10 years. With her extensive experience in education, Fiona identified the potential of Cellfield, travelled to New Zealand 5 years ago for training and then introduced Cellfield to the UK.
Cellfield is so unique and effective that clients travel considerable distances to access the treatment in Stirling and Cellfield’s reputation continues to grow. Catherine and her children are so pleased they found Cellfield and are keen to tell other families about its potential to change lives for the better.
