Judith L. (Lauder) Hafker wrote in to say that her husband of 24 ½ years, William, passed away on Sept. 25, 2012.


Donna (Fruscione) Katz (G’80) was the recipient of the Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Award, presented by the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation. Katz is the district occupational therapist and assistive technology trainer in

Frank Sumpter retired after a 39-year YMCA career that included 23 years as CEO and president of the Northern Middlesex YMCA in


Middletown, Conn. Some of his former Springfield College men’s volleyball team- mates were on hand to help him celebrate.

Charles Brown, DPE’81, retired as athletic director from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in May after 24 years of service.


Tom Fahner (G) is now an executive director at Kum Hattin Homes for Children, which is a nonprofit charitable home and school in Westminster, Vt., that serves


children whose families are experiencing a time of need.


Charlie Fisher is the quarter- backs coach for the Penn State football team and will be the guest speaker for the 94th annual Rotary Football Banquet honoring Mount Carmel Area School District’s 2012 football team.


Bonnie (Paul) Werkmeister was instrumental in starting a Hurricane Sandy recovery support group called “Hope, Health, and Healing.”
