Technology moves on at a rapid pace, especially in the world of military fast jets and this constant development sometimes means that the human body has to adapt to keep up.

or trainee fighter pilots at the RAF’s centre of flying training excellence at No 1 Flying Training School at RAF
Linton-on-Ouse, this has meant the trainees going back to the gym for some very specific training.
Physiotherapist for No 1 Flying Training School Claire Bambrook explains:
“The RAF’s Centre for Aviation Medicine has developed a conditioning programme tailored for fast jet pilots. The programme improves their neck, core and leg strength to help them
cope with the physical demands of flying a fast jet. We also hope to instil in the students a strength training ethos to make sure they keep up the training once they leave us.”
