The old main building of the Bank of Japan is a neo-Baroque-style stone building, designed by Dr. Kingo Tatsuno, the architect and designer who also worked on Tokyo Station, and is registered as an important cultural property. Guided tours in English are available every Tuesday at 11:00. The Currency Museum exhibits various Japanese currencies from ancient times to recent days as well as related information.

The bridge where the originating point of main Japanese roads, the “Road Marker”, is located. The first bridge was built by Ieyasu Tokugawa, and the current one is the 20th. It has been designated as an Important Cultural Property. A boat trip to Tokyo Skytree can be enjoyed from the boat dock that was completed in 2011. 0Nihombashi Sta. Chuo Dori is the starting point of the historical Five Highways of Japan (Tokaido, Nakasendo, Kohshukaido, Ohshukaido and Nikkokaido). There are famous department stores and traditional shops of Nihombashi in the neighborhood. 0Exit station: JR Shin-nihombashi Sta.
5 Suitengu Shrine 水天宮 MAP P37 B-4
Also known as the “Merciful Arima Suitengu”, the shrine is noted for its divine graces such as the safe delivery of children, pregnancy, and avoidance from fl ood damage. The deities were enshrined as guardians in Kurume, Fukuoka, but were later worshipped separately during the Edo era. Scheduled to be temporarily relocated next to the Meijiza Theater due to renovations as of March 1, 2013.

A downtown neighborhood that has been busy and lively since the Edo era due to puppet shows, Suitengu, and more. There are still many traditional crafts shops and old established restaurants in Amazake Yokocho, which leads to the Meijiza theater and Hamacho Park. Events such as the Setomono Market in August as well as the Ningyo Market and Bettara Market in October are famous.
