Mitsui Memorial Museum 三井記念美術館

Opened in the Mitsui Main Building, which has been designated Important Cultural Property. Stored here are about 4,000 works of art of Japan and other areas of Asia gathered since the Edo era by the Mitsui Family, which has a history of about 300 years. Among the items are

Nezu Museum 根津美術館


A collection of Japanese and Far Eastern art related to fields such as tea ceremony utensils and Buddhist art. Many works of art including 7 national treasures and 87 Important Cultural Assets are introduced in 7 or 8 exhibitions a year. The museum also has a strolling garden where visitors can feel the natural wonders of the four distinctive seasons.

The Japan Hall introduces the diverse nature of Japan under the theme of “the Nature of the Japanese archipelago and us”. The Earth Hall offers exhibitions about the evolution of the human species and dinosaurs, the diversity of the environment and life, the progress of science and technology, and research of the universe and materials. Information termi-nals are available in the exhibition rooms for detailed narrations in four languages: Japa-nese, English, Chinese and Korean.
