General Information for Tourists Climate
There are four distinct seasons. Spring -March to May- and autumn -September to November- are comfortable. However, there are many rainy days (rainy season) from mid-June to July. In summer, it is hot during the day and humid at night. In winter, there are many clear days but it is often cold and dry.
Currency
The yen (¥) is the currency of Japan. Bills come in denominations of ¥10,000, ¥5,000, ¥2,000, and ¥1,000. (Nowadays ¥2,000 bills are rare.) Coins come in denominations of ¥500, ¥100, ¥50, ¥10, ¥5 and ¥1.

With Odakyu Department Store and Keio Department Store at the West Exit, along with other stores including Isetan and Marui at the East Exit and the Takashimaya Times Square at the South Exit, the area surrounding the station is lined with well-established department stores that provide dining as well as shopping.
Mail can be sent from Japan to abroad at the post office. Postcards and letters can be left at the front desk of your hotel or dropped in a post box on the street or at a tourist site. All postcards cost ¥70. Letters vary from ¥90 to ¥130, depending on the destination.
