“Personal fi nances are nothing to with the Armed Forces. …... I refuse to be conti nuously categorised as a ‘wife of’, as I am more than skilled and experienced enough to deal with my own issues without having to constantly pass them onto my husband as the “uniformed” member of our family to have them dealt with through the uniformed ranks. I may have married into the military, but I certainly didn’t marry a rank, uniform or my husband’s job. This needs to change!!”
“A huge majority of families have recently lost all their tax credits so when we then have to face a pay freeze and then a paltry 1% rise we are all now struggling to make ends meet. I have to work evenings and weekends because we can’t aff ord Childcare for 2 children or for me not to work so we have no family ti me to speak of.”
“ I do worry about my future earnings as the non-military partner because I cannot be stable in employment.”
Only 26% of our audience were aware of the newly formed website ‘Money Force’. Of those who had viewed it some were scepti cal, others quite criti cal.
“The Money Force website is solely for those in debt. It should also include a secti on for those of us that manage our money and don't owe any money.”
“Money Force website is limited in its capacity to help specifi c matt ers about military fi nances, but the general advice is a bit 'noddy' and does nothing to further a minimal level of fi nancial understanding for those who have none.”
“Unaware of Money Force, many of these things are in place but people are unaware of these services.”
