MCDA News Jonathan Owen, MCDA President
Thank you Brian Reeves and the
Missouri Choral Directors
Association team for giving us one of the best summer conferences EVER. Great honor choirs, great clinicians, great sessions, and great friends. If you are an MCDA member and you missed this conference, you missed something very special. If you are a choral director and not a member of MCDA, PLEASE join us. You will not be sorry. Be sure to clear your schedule next summer and come to Jefferson City. The conference dates are July 23-26, 2014.
As we start the school year students will begin the process of preparing for their All-District honors choirs and hoping to have the opportunity to audition for the Missouri All- State Choir. The MCDA district representatives will have all of the information needed to help your students get ready. You can also find audition information on the MCDA website: http://moacda. org. Anyone can check out the site. If you are an MCDA member, there are extra features you can check out when you sign in. There are a few changes in the All-State forms this year and your All-State coordinators can share those changes with you.

HASELHUHN, from pg. 37 to discuss all aspects of NAfME-C with chapter leadership or whoever is interested. Also, we are selling the art prints that serve as a fundraiser for the Missouri NAfME-C Trimborn Scholarship, which are able to be awarded to NAfME-C members at any of the colleges and universities in Missouri that have active NAfME-C chapters.
In closing, I would like to thank the NAfME-C members for giving me the opportunity to hold this office and work to contribute to the future of music education in our state and throughout the country. I along with my fellow officers have had so much fun working to provide you with the best leadership and support possible and we are excited for the months to come. See you in January!
