NAME: LIAM ROLE: SINGER

You’re taking someone out for a special meal in Monmouthshire, where would you go and why? The Tredegar Arms in Shirenewton because they do the most amazing homecooked-style meals and are very, very well priced too (always a good thing). If they were fully booked it’d be the Blue Cumin, Magor.

What’s your favourite food/meal? Gotta be a roast dinner… or a curry.

What ingredient is your favourite to use, Garlic (obviously – see below). Balsamic vinegar is a good shout too.

Top smell to get your taste buds going? Garlic and onions cooking. If you tell me: “Well, I’m starting off by frying up some garlic and onions…” STOP. I’m sold. Whatever you put in now doesn’t matter – it’ll be immense.

Tea or coffee? Tea all the way.

Red wine or white? Both taste like vinegar, so it’s all the same to me really!

Beer/lager or spirits: Spirits – JD, Captain Morgans or, if I’m feeling radical, Sailor

Jerry. What’s your guilty foodie pleasure?

Guilty foodie pleasure? Hmm, I don’t know if it’s guilty, but I probably shouldn’t hanker after quite so many curries.

Where did you have the best meal of your life? At the Groes Wenn on the A48 about 10 years ago! Just a basic

tomato pasta and fl at bread. The restaurant has fallen down my pecking order since then, mind. But that was a lovely spot of tucker to be fair.

What would you choose to eat at your own last supper? Tapas – a bit of curry, a bit of roast dinner, a bit pasta etc. But instead of small dishes, they’d all be supersized. Thinking about it, that’s probably WHY it’d be my last meal.

What’s the best music to listen to when eating/preparing food. That would be The Holy Bible by the Manics – a bit of evil while I’m making a chicken pie.

What one song would you have to have on your iPod? It’d defi nitely be Jungleland by Bruce Springsteen – best song ever written. What a sax solo!

First record you ever bought? First record I ever bought was Big Willie Style by Will Smith.

Infl uences ... Bruce Springsteen, The Manics, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and lots of others...
