RESPONSE announces deal with ScottishPower to create 300 jobs
New contract One of the UK’s leading contact centres, RESPONSE, has secured a major new contract with energy giant ScottishPower, which will create 300 new jobs at its operation in Glasgow. Following a competitive
pitch, the company will now provide additional in-bound call handling customer service for ScottishPower account holders. RESPONSE expects to fill all positions, which include customer service agents, team managers and operational managers, within the next few months.

Fleeting year for Sheila Celebration
Te glamorous jewellery hall in Frasers Buchanan Street Glasgow was the backdrop for the first anniversary of Chamber member Sheila Fleet Jewellery. Te VIP invitation-only gathering atracted loyal customers and new fans to the exclusive Orkney-based brand. Varry McMenemy, President
of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, sporting the stunning presidential chain of office, was delighted to propose the toast to the company’s success marking one year of business in Glasgow. An array of businessmen and
women, VIP customers and glamorous models came out to celebrate and enjoy Orcadian produce including wine, oatcakes, cheese and fudge. Tey heard Sheila Fleet speak of the inspiration behind her life of design and the formation of her successful company. Today the company employs
around 50 people and has high-profile outlets in Jenners Edinburgh and Loch Lomond Shores. Tere is also a store in Stockbridge Edinburgh.

Visit Scotland to be one of their ambassadors and took part in a Creative Scotland promotion in New York and Toronto with her husband, Rick. Te date coincided with their 40th wedding anniversary and was a great chance to meet travel writers and encourage them to visit Scotland.

Scotland Tonight celebrates one year on STV
Anniversary STV’s popular current affairs programme, Scotland Tonight, has celebrated its one-year anniversary. Scotland Tonight is firmly established as Scotland’s must-watch provider of engaging current affairs, reaching three million viewers over the year. Scotland Tonight launched with Donald Trump and First Minister Alex Salmond in the studio and has continued to attract high-profile guests, including Alistair Darling, Michael Moore, Annie Lennox and Nicola Benedetti. In the past 12 months, the
programme has covered all of the major issues in Scotland, with the audience growing by 18 per cent over the period. Scotland Tonight now attracts an average audience of more than 100,000 each night, regularly reaching 500,000 viewers across Scotland each week. Scotland Tonight is live on
STV Monday to Thursday at 10.30pm. The 30-minute show is produced and presented from STV’s news centres in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen with a dedicated team of journalists delivering reports and features from all corners of the country.
